On Sunday, October 4th, at 10:00 a.m. in Morsasco, a new Museo Aero Solar will attempt its first flight among the hills of Piemonte.
Coinciding with Autunno in festa, the town will come alive with meetings and workshops, music and local products, and is ready to welcome anyone who wants to take part in this moment of celebration.
October 4th, however, will only be the finish line of a long journey that began in April, when citizens and local organizations met for the first time at Il Nido della Gazza Ladra (Castle of Morsasco): by opening its doors, the castle symbolically marked the start of the Museum’s creation.
Along the way, more and more schools, local organizations and residents joined the project: some by setting up collection points for used bags, some by contributing to the decoration, and some by taking part in the final, crucial phase of assembling the Museum. Thanks to these collaborations and the constant support of local institutions and municipalities, the Museo Aero Solar took his shape and color.
Among the key contributions, special mention should go to the collection of plastic bags carried out by students from the comprehensive schools of Acqui Terme and Ovada. Thanks to the work of teachers, who managed to turn the project into both an educational and enjoyable experience, the classes transformed old plastic bags into the Museum’s panels, decorating them with drawings and important messages of peace and environmental protection.
Also decisive was the contribution of active local organizations, which helped spread the word and raise awareness of the project throughout the area, giving rise to important collaborations.
And, last but not least, the local community, which rose to the challenge of the Museum and got involved to help bring it to life together.
Now that the Museum is ready for its first flight, we invite you to Morsasco on October 4th to spend the day with us: see the sculpture inflate, walk inside it, and add your own piece in the Workshop.
