Maxi Laina

Documentary film director, activist

Maximiliano Laina studied film-making at Argentina’s most prestigious film school, the state run ENERC (Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica). As a documentalist, he has directed several films following Tomás Saraceno. In 2009 he participated on an artistc residence at Atelier Calder, France. In 2017 he presented “El tiempo de las arañas”, that registers the making of the show by Tomás Saraceno “How to entagle the universe in a spider web”, at Mamba, Buenos Aires. His film “Elevadores espaciales” featuring some Saraceno’s first atmospheric experiments was featured at MOMA and the Luxembourg Museum. He has travelled with Saraceno to many isolated locations, including Uyuni in Bolivia and Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina

Fly with Aerocene Pacha helped us to re-imagine the way in which we move, and how we might move differently in the future. It connected many communities through a common goal, while raising voices in unison against harmful lithium extraction practices in northern Argentina.
