In August 2021, the Aerocene Community was invited to participate of the Abitare Conessioni Festival, in the Barbagia region in Sardinia. Represented by Lorenzo Malloni, during several days Aerocene sculptures flew to the backdrop of Orani, Ottana and Orgosolo.
The festival opened on August 2 in Orani. After the greetings and the presentation of the program in the central square under the pergola, the participatory Aerosolar Sculpture, rose up on the skies of Orani. It is a collective work constituted by a balloon, the result of a choral work conceived as an open-source and collaborative perspective that traces a symbolic moment of elevation through the care of the territory.
Abitare connessioni is not “only” a festival, but much more. Inspired by the lesson of Costantino Nivola and by the green weave of the arbor that weaves the threads and bonds of communities, the Festival is conceived as a “total intervention” that contributes to refounding public space, weaving relationships, unraveling conflicts and transforming the relationships between people, bringing the community back to the squares, to the streets, to the hidden corners between the curves of the intricate alleys where the typical houses made of granite and stone face, on the steps of the churches and along suggestive itineraries immersed in a harsh, wild and picturesque landscape.
In Lorenzo’s words: “Abitare Conessioni has been an amazing adventure that challenged all the thresholds of what it means to live together in remote areas. We will keep beautiful memories of these days drifting from one little town to another, building a community out of the blue, stiching human bonds between one performance and the other…”
